Fine Book Bindings - Light of Day Bindery

Light of Day has served the individual book collectors, students, institutions and antiquarian book sellers to bind new books and rebind old books in the style of the period or personal preference. Fine goat and calf skins from England, unique one-of-a-kind marbled and paste papers, archival products and adhesives and Ph neutral papers are used in the construction of new bindings.

Often a special book is commissioned to commemorate an event, a special project, wedding, autobiography, birth or birthday. A design binding and/or box is created through a fascinating exchange of ideas between the binder and the customer. It is a process that includes the customer’s ideas and the binder’s techniques, which merge to bring a unique project to reality. It is as exciting for the binders at Light of Day as we hope it is for our customers.
